SCRIPTURE
We believe the Scriptures are the source and foundation for all Christian ministry. At each of our camps, retreats, and events we preach the Bible without apology.
EVANGELISM
We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by boldly proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and directly challenging people to respond in faith.
YOUTH
Our purpose is to reach youth whose culture is always changing with biblical truth that never changes. We seek to be both biblical and relevant and keep the two in balance.
Whether you are at one of our camps, events, or attending our English programs, there are certain elements that you will always experience at Word of Life. These principles, taken from the Bible, are hard-wired into our DNA as an organization.
History
The story of Word of Life starts with the vision of Jack Wyrtzen, who believed, “it is the responsibility of every generation to reach their generation for Christ.” The Nicholes brothers brought Word of Life to Korea and started the first S.Y.M.E. program. Over the next decades, Word of Life has added S.Y.M.E. programs around the globe, including Japan and Taiwan.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Field Coordinator Jacob Smith
Field Coordinator Jacob Smith - A graduate of the Word of Life Bible Institute and Liberty University, Jacob Smith is the Field Coordinator for WOL Taiwan. Experienced with WOL since 2005, Jacob became a full-time missionary to Taiwan in 2015 and transitioned to Field Coordinator in 2021. A published writer, techie, and video producer, Jacob is also an active team member of Pilgrimage Films.
