Word of Life Quiet Times

DAILY DEVOTIONS

The Word of Life Quiet Time devotional guides believers in developing the habit of listening to God through daily Bible reading and application, as well as talking with God in prayer. The Quiet Time follows a 3 year reading plan that features every genre of Scripture, all the historical Bible books, and the entire New Testament.

A DEVOTIONAL FOR EVERY AGE

Children

Quiet Times for CHILDREN are filled with searching questions, puzzles, and activities to help them engage with Scripture. Books are designed to be age appropriate for 4-5 year old preschoolers, for those in grades 1-2, grades 3-4, and grades 5-6. Each Quiet Time includes a section with ample room to record prayer requests and answers to prayer.

Teens

Quiet Time Interactive for teens has penetrating questions to encourage application. The Dare2Share Cause Circle is also integrated. There is ample room to record prayer requests, and it includes “MOBILIZE FOR THE CAUSE” content designed for follow-up of new believers.

Adults

The adult Quiet Time has commentary on each passage, a place to journal, and a section to write a personal application for each day. The Dare2Share Cause Circle is also integrated. There is ample room to record prayer requests, and it includes “MOBILIZE FOR THE CAUSE” content designed for follow-up of new believers.

FAMILY QUIET TIMES

With a resource for every age from 4 years old up to adults, Quiet Times help the whole family interact with God’s Word daily. Family members are in the same passage but using a tool adapted to their age. Many families use Quiet Time as a springboard for family devotions

ESL FOR YOUR FUTURE

Quiet Times are designed to be able to be done 15min a day. Each Age group will have different activities designed to help them interact with God’s Word in English.

A Day in the Children’s Quiet Time

1. Read the Bible Verse

Between the ages of 4-6 years, children will engage with God’s word through simple English. Starting off Children will read the Bible passage for the day.

16 But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.

– Luke 5:16

2. I Can Know

In this section it describes what we learn from the Bible verse.

Jesus often got alone to talk to His Father (God) in prayer.

3. I Can Learn

This is the activity section. Today we learned about prayer! Prayer begins with the letter “P”. In this activity see if your student can find which words begin with the letter “P”.

4. I can Pray

After children spend time in God’s Word we want to encourage them to pray. Have your child answer the statement. In this lesson the statement is “Praise God for something wonderful He has done for you.” Encourage them to pray to God in English telling God something wonderful He’s done for them. If they struggle with speaking sentences, have your child say one word answer, then repeat a one sentence prayer after you.

A Day in the Interactive Quiet Time (teens/adults)

1. Read the Bible Verse

On the same day as the children’s QT (Luke 5:16), the teens/adults Quiet Time will overlap the same passages by reading Luke 5:12-26. This allows families and churches to be studying the Bible at home, but all be in the same passages together!

2. Interactive VS Commentary

In the interactive Quiet Time (pictured to the left), after reading the Bible passage you then can test your comprehension of what you just read. This is a great version for ESL students. The questions vary from Yes & No, multiple choice, and short answer.

The Commentary Quiet Time ask two questions: “What is the passage about?” and “How can I apply this to my life?” The reader is encouraged to take time and think about the context and how that applies to them today. Under the questions we have well educated commentators who give their look into the passage for further thoughts.

*The Interactive & Commentary Quiet Times are both included in a single the Online Quiet Time subscription. Or individual printed books can be purchased.

3. Share It

Each day our time in God’s Word shouldn’t end with reading it, it needs to be apart of who we are. This section encourages the reader to make a commitment to who and what they will share about from their devotion.

4. Pray

Just like the children’s Quiet Time there is also a prayer journal section that encourages students to pray and keep a log of answered prayers.
